Where to begin? At the beginning, I guess!
So new year, New Year’s resolution. I started a blog back in 2014 and although I enjoyed writing it, I wasn’t happy with the name (Purple Sparkly Mummy – not really me) and after I had completed the #100happydays challenge didn’t know what else to write about. But I wanted to write. I don’t have an area of speciality. Fashion? Travel? Interiors? Yes, I love all of the above but so does everyone else and so many others do it bettter. Photography? Yes, I am an aspiring photographer and get a lot of pleasure from it but who wants to see my family album? So kids? Check, I have three and being a mum is my main job (along with wife, chef, chauffeur, PA, you know the rest) but they’re past the age of being sweet little darlings and with all those brilliant blogs about toddler tantrums and first days at school, I feel like I’ve missed the boat. I have … a teenager! There’s not much sweet about the lippy age (and you can take that in whichever way you fancy) but it does have its moments.
So dear reader (although in truth I know there’s nobody out there. Yet.) I am a frustrated writer, struggling to find my angle but wanting to put pen to paper, so we’ll see where this ends up.
2017: be brave and put your positive pants on!
Off to find my positive pants now! Great stuff – follow the dream! X

Write about whatever you want, even though you think a 100 other people do it better than you, and the great thing about it being your blog, is that you don’t have to limit yourself to one category! I know how much it can affect you if you overthink it too much, so I really hope you find your way:) also, I’m here and I look forward to reading more.

Very good point. I did talk to my husband over Christmas and we discussed doing it for the love of writing, not necessarily for anyone else, so I must keep that in mind. Thank you.

It sounds familiar, having the urge to write, but being unable to choose the topics to write about. But this is a good start 😊

Thank you. Yes, I need to think more about the teen/parenting angle as it seems to be covered less than the toddler years. I appreciate the time you took to get in touch xx
